Many of us would have watched the movie 2012 out of which maximum number of people were trying to visualize the impressions created in their mind by endless prevalent ,thoughtful and planned advertisements by big gurus of marketing.Marketing strategies have progressed by leaps and bounds over the last decade.If you compare in india the 2 names,from very different field, that come to my mind are shahrukh khan and baba ramdev!.Surprise!Surprise..You must be wondering how can i comapare both of them.Shahrukh khan made his name even out of ordinary films and is now called the badshah of bollywood,His basic strategy being projecting himself as big in media,using clever ,self denying self abnegating statements that make impressions on mediocre peoplenad our country is obsessed with mediocrity.The moment You try to move 1 point ahead ,you feel you are being dragged bakwards.I do not call shahrukh as a pseudo cultural or opportunistic but a person from his background,having seen the mediocrity surrounding made hmself capable enough to make use,which people from mainframe bollywood families missed.Another name which i took Mr.Ramdev or Ramdev baba,who inspite of several accusations have sustained a way of living influencing several people lifestyles.He too was like shahrukh in the regard that he had belief in points which people do know to be correct,neverthless lost belief as they grew in life.He made use of the power of truth and spoke endlessly with confidence,no doubt he had a very unique item to sell,but still the way it was made popular,the credit has to be given to his marketing skills.
